Who We Are and What We Do

Henderson Doyle is two people: Audrey Henderson and Victoria Doyle.

Audrey Henderson

Audrey F. Henderson is a Chicagoland-based freelance writer and researcher. A native of Upper East Tennessee, Audrey earned a BA in Sociology from Northwestern University. She returned to higher education as a mature student to earn an MA in sociology from Northwestern University Graduate School and a JD from Northwestern University School of Law. Her writing specialties include sustainable development in the built environment, culture and arts related to social policy, socially responsible travel, and personal finance. Audrey has written for Energy News Network, Next City, Wallpaper*, the Chicago Reader, Belt Magazine, Transitions Abroad webzine and Chicago Architect magazine, along with numerous consumer, professional and trade publications worldwide.

Victoria Doyle

Victoria Doyle became an activist patient advocate after her first heart transplant in 1991, when her insurance carrier denied her access to vital anti-rejection medication one week before the Christmas holidays. Since that time, she has worked with the Washington Statewide Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) as well as other healthcare advocacy groups. After noticing an uptick in certain types of calls, Victoria became certified with the Teepa Snow Foundation as a Dementia Care Consultant and Trainer in order to better serve a growing client base. Victoria also holds a BA in Classical Studies from University of Washington, Seattle and an RRA/MA in Health Information Administration from University of Washington School of Public Health. She lives in Browns Point, Washington State, with her husband and animals.

Our Mission Statement

Henderson Doyle is a nonprofit corporation co-managed by a woman of color and a woman living with invisible disabilities. We understand the hurdles that so many people face. Yet we also are privileged to have obtained education, expertise and experience in a range of areas including health advocacy, animal rescue, law, social policy and personal finance that empower us to look beyond what conservatives often label as victimhood.

Our mission is to enhance an overall quality of life. We strive to achieve this goal by expanding the definition and range of sustainability to reach beyond the silos of development and conservation.

We believe in true affirmative action based in genuine equity, rather than mere equality, which all too often is not equal at all.

Through our work in Henderson Doyle and our subsidiary Patient Information Resources, Victoria and Audrey strive to develop and extend the range of sustainability and equity practices beyond the current standards into varying communities and professions through education, training and mentorship, with the aim of improving the overall quality of life for as many people as possible.

Henderson Doyle is committed to providing clients with education and resources to proactively and responsively create and maintain healthy, sustainable futures.

In future updates, we will expand upon this statement with available in-person and online trainings, blog posts and related materials. In the meantime, please “like” and follow our Facebook Page Patient Information Resources, where you will find news updates and health-related information.
